Earlier this week, I was very excited to hear that I had been accepted to speak at the 2015 Asia Pacific Autism Conference in Brisbane, Australia, this September. This conference will bring together some of the top scholars, researchers and autism professionals from not just around Australia, but the world as well. I was fortunate enough to have been selected and will hopefully try and attend the conference, that takes place September 9-11.
While I have every intention of trying to attend this conference, it is no easy feat, as both conference fees and travel costs are pretty high. With that in mind, I have set up a GoFundMe page at the link below, to help cover my costs to attend the conference. This is an amazing opportunity and I never thought that I would get the chance to speak about my personal experiences with autism in Australia, let alone at the age of 25.
Normally I wouldn’t ask for donations, but due to my current financial situation, I know there is no way that I will be able to raise enough money by myself to cover the cost of the trip by September. Since I started in autism advocacy, I have dreamed about speaking internationally and God is beginning to make that dream a reality, I just need some outside help in this case.
Here is the link if you would like to donate. Any amount at all is greatly appreciated.
