Hello and Happy August! It’s hard to believe that we are only a few weeks away from my favorite season, football season! As we near yet another great year of pigskin play, I’ve decided to start a personal challenge that I am calling 50 by 35. I’m going to try and attend a college football game in all 50 states by the time I turn 35. When I say 50 states, I mean 50 different actual schools, not just the same team in multiple states. I’ll be blogging about each state’s game and will include photos for the enjoyment of my readers.
In order to start this off though, I need to figure out how many states I’ve already been to for a game. So, below I present to you the list of all the states, in no real order, where I’ve seen a game.
Minnesota: Minnesota vs. Penn State October, 2006 California: UCLA vs. Kansas State September, 2009 and Cal vs. Northwestern September 2013
Oklahoma: Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State, October 2013
Kansas: Multiple Kansas State games, 2007-Present
Iowa: Iowa vs. Ohio State, November 2010 and Iowa vs. Nebraska, November 2012
Florida: Miami vs. Kansas State, September 2011
This leaves me with 42 states left, with just over 10 years to cover them. Now that I’m living in Fargo, I will surely be attending at least one, if not more NDSU games this year, which will cross North Dakota off of my list, bringing me down to 41 states to start off the 2015 season with.
I’m excited to try and complete this goal and I look forward to many fun memories that will surely be made along the way.
Until next time…
